Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using BdfdAPI ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users — developers, bot operators, and anyone making requests to the API.

2. What the Service Is

BdfdAPI is a free HTTP API providing utilities for Discord bot developers, including transcript generation, welcome cards, image generation, quotes, and other endpoints. The Service is provided free of charge and without warranty. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any endpoint at any time.

3. Permitted Use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree to:

• Only use the transcript endpoint on Discord channels you own or are authorized to moderate
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer or extract the source code of the API
• Not resell or redistribute API access without written consent
• Not use the Service to process data from servers where you lack appropriate permissions
• Not attempt to overload, stress-test, or disrupt the API infrastructure
• Not use the Service for any activity that violates Discord's Terms of Service

4. Rate Limits

The Service enforces rate limits to ensure fair access. Exceeding them may result in temporary access restrictions. Repeated or intentional abuse may result in permanent termination of access without notice.

5. Bot Tokens

The transcript endpoint requires a Discord bot token. Your token is used only to fetch channel messages and is never logged or stored by the Service. You are fully responsible for the security of your own bot token. Do not share it publicly or embed it in client-side code.

6. Data & Privacy

Discord message content submitted to the transcript endpoint is processed in memory and not permanently stored beyond the transcript retrieval period. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of any API output.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of BdfdAPI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if you have violated these Terms or acted in a way harmful to the Service or its users.

10. Changes

These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
