Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Transcript API ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including developers, bot operators, and any third parties who access the API.
2. Description of Service
Transcript API is a high-performance HTTP API that generates structured Discord channel transcripts. The Service accepts Discord channel data and returns formatted transcript content. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time.
3. Permitted Use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Specifically, you agree to:
- Use the API only for generating Discord channel transcripts for servers you own or are authorized to moderate
- Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the API
- Not resell, sublicense, or redistribute API access without prior written consent
- Not use the Service to process data from servers where you do not have appropriate permissions
- Not attempt to overload, stress-test, or disrupt the Service infrastructure
4. Rate Limits & Fair Use
The Service enforces rate limits to ensure fair access for all users. Exceeding rate limits may result in temporary suspension of access. Repeated or intentional abuse of rate limits may result in permanent termination of access without notice.
5. API Keys & Authentication
If you are issued an API key, you are responsible for maintaining its confidentiality. You must not share your API key publicly or embed it in client-side code. You are liable for all activity conducted under your API key. If you believe your key has been compromised, notify us immediately.
6. Data & Privacy
We do not permanently store the Discord message data submitted to the API. Transcript data is processed in memory and returned in the API response. We collect minimal operational metadata (request timestamps, error logs) for reliability purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure access to the Service. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of any transcript output.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of Transcript API shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms or engaged in any conduct harmful to the Service or its users.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
